Smokin' Hot Breakfast Sandwich

Good Morning and welcome to another segment of CannMart’s Summer of Snacks! Today’s recipe is a Smokin’ Hot Breakfast Sandwich filled with layers of flavours and a good ‘ol kick of spiciness and crunch. As always, our summer recipes have multiple infusion options and we support all revisions, substitutions or dietary restrictions you may apply to your dish. This recipe is a bit of a doozy for some consumers, however, our team assures this is one tasty way to begin your morning. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 ciabatta bread bun
  • 3 to 4 pieces of bacon (the more the merrier)
  • ½ gala or fuji Apple
  • 6 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp of chipotle or smoked hot sauce 
  • 1 tsp mayonnaise (or infused butter)
  • 1 egg
  • Salt, pepper & red chilli flakes to taste
  • 1tsp cooking oil 

Optional infusions: 0.5g raw dried cannabis flower, infused butter or tincture amount of your choice

Recipe for 1 person, multiply ingredients for larger quantities if desired. Dose to your personal preference and use an edibles calculator if you are unsure about potency.

The Smokin’ Hot Breakfast Sandwich runs off of the link between the fruity, spiciness in your cannabis application, the sauces, red chilli flakes and apples. We’ve created this sandwich for play on the caryophyllene terpenes present in all these elements to bring a spicy, yet exciting cannabis experience to your morning.

Our team of cannabis connessiours suggests using the dried flower infusion method to infuse this dish with THCA. Some consumers intake THCA over activated THC in the mornings to have an experience of the different properties of cannabis. To find out more about the variation of cannabinoids read more HERE. THCA is activated into THC through a decarbing process, this usually takes a lot longer than a few minutes on medium heat. That means, this recipe acts on a majority of raw unactivated cannabis, if that is the infusion method you choose. It is important to have the recommended chipotle or smoked hot sauce to conceal the taste of cannabis.

The second option is to infuse your meal with a tincture, DIY pre-made oils or butter by mixing with or replacing one of the sauce ingredients. To avoid a strong cannabis taste, we recommend using a tincture rather than oil or butter. It is also much easier to dose. Adding a tincture to any dish (or nano emulsion if it is a beverage), is the quickest and simplest way to infuse. 

Recipe Breakdown:

Begin making your sandwich by frying your bacon on a medium heat until the strips have reached your preferred crispiness level. Place your bacon on a paper towel or strain out the fat to dispose of later. Slice your apples thinly and set aside for when you will build your sandwich. We suggest pre-building your sandwich before layering on your egg. On each side of your ciabatta bun, add your chipotle/hot sauce and mayonnaise. Here is where you can add your infused butter to mix, or replace your mayonaise. If you have chosen to infuse with a tincture or oil extract, mix it in with your sauces before applying to the bun. On Top of the chipotle add your apples and cheddar cheese. On the other side, place your bacon. The last item to prep is your egg. Heat a small pan on medium heat and add your oil before cracking your egg. Once the pan is hot, fry your egg over easy with added salt, pepper and red chilli flakes. If you are using the raw cannabis dried flower for a THCA infusion, sprinkle your ground flower on your egg before flipping it over.
